bigturtle Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 you put 100 yards of 6lb mono backing? you sure you have enough braid to cast without reaching the mono? Also, what is this 30 thousand lb line you speak of, i want some. Quote
You_Only_Live_Once_Fishing Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 yeah, i got a 330 yard spool of 6 mono and put 100 yards on two spinning reels, used the other fifteen for leader and 30 000 pound line is awesome, just give me your credit card and social security number and ill get u some... lol Quote
bigturtle Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 As long you are sure you can cast your baitcaster without reaching the mono, then its all good. Quote
Super User fishnkamp Posted July 7, 2016 Super User Posted July 7, 2016 Usually I use 14 to 17 pound backing but you will be fine with the 6 pound backing and yes he has plenty of braid on the reel. That 6 pound test is pretty thin. The braid is only the size of 8 pound mono. That combo will work well for your needs. That reel is not much different than my Tatulas and they work great for me. Now go catch some fish. Quote
SwampLife Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I have been liking the tournament zx rods.. No lie!! 1 Quote
You_Only_Live_Once_Fishing Posted July 8, 2016 Author Posted July 8, 2016 thanks, and yes the tzx rods are awesome 1 Quote
Cgrinder Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 That's a lot of backing. Depending on the diameter, you may not get enough braid on there. Quote
