Summer time is my favorite time to throw a top water bait. This video was shot last week in the St. Johns River watershed. Top water was the ticket until the wind kicked up and then it was a spinnerbait bite.

I am very impressed by the pause you guys gave topwater fish before setting the hook. One day I hope to have that sort of self control

I hear that a lot. I watch clients make mistakes like setting up on the blowup and I say to myself.......why do folks do that. I try to tell folks that the bass will not drop that frog, just take up slack , drop that rod tip and load up.

Nice!!  i do it sometimes too, just the pure rush of it over powers my thought process and next thing i know, i'm swinging for the stars!

I love top water fishing from my kayak, I still pull the trigger to early sometimes. Thanks for sharing a great video.
