a_hooker88 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 So new guy here. Taking bass fishing seriously this year. Ready to join a bass club and learn all that I can from them. Maybe someday I can be a competitive angler. Right now I fish local ponds. Most are urban, with limited bass friendly structure. Shallow, with only about 15 ft depth at the most! Tough conditions to say the least. Many times I go just to practice casting and working on the presentations. Walking frogs is a common practice subject for me. Ok. So that's my fishing life in a nutshell. I also own a small fishing boat that I take out about once a month. So far when I catch any bass they are small!! Less than a pound... Quote

Super User fishnkamp Posted July 5, 2016 Super User Posted July 5, 2016 Welcome to the site. What part of the country do you live in? I see you fish ponds, do you have any small to mid size rivers you can run your boat in nearby? If they are shallow enough you may want to wade them. Moving waters often offers bass that are more aggressive in the hotter weather. Quote
