Bennyjay26 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Hey all! I'm a fisherman from a little south of the st louis area. I mainly fish small lakes and creeks around my area but I can say there is nothing better than those furious bronze backs. I'm looking for a good stretch on the gasconade or possibly one of the piney's either shallow enough to wade or deep enough for a small jon boat. Any suggestions would be great and please list the access area name. Thanks guys Quote
Drew03cmc Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Walk the dog baits, soft Craw, KVD 1.0. They all work. Quote
Bennyjay26 Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Drew thanks for the bait tips! But I'm mainly looking for access points that are deep enough for a boat or shallow enough to wade, I've never fished the river before and am looking for some people who have fished it and what areas they are familiar with. Thanks. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 3, 2016 Global Moderator Posted July 3, 2016 Never fished it, but if I was looking for info on it, I'd start here. http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/forum/63-gasconade-river/ Quote
Drew03cmc Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 On the Gasconade, for wading water, you've gotta head way upstream, but you've got better water close, Meremec system for one. You can float most of the Gasconade most of the year, but for scenery and fish, think about Big Piney or the Huzzah/Courtois. Quote
