Need help with gloomis glx worm and jig rod choice

Hey guys first post. I have been saving and really want to step up to the gloomis glx . I would be using this rod for finesse jigs mostly in 3/16 and 5/16. For trailers i use mainly double tail grubs. I fish them around sparse cover and rocks brought lay downs grass lines etc. I was looking at the 7ft1 mh. If someone could point me in direction currently I have a *** 7ft3 mh xf a white ice 7ft3 mh and and a cushion 7ft3 mh f. For the reel I was thinking curado i70 with 30pd spiderwire camo with a 15 pd flurry carbon leader. Please any suggestions would be helpful i have plenty of other medium casting rods and other mh and a few heavys.

So thexcited 853c well handle both jig sizes. I know it's subjective but we'll I see better sensitivity and action in the 853c then the rods I currently have.

I have a 853 that use for Texas rigs in that weight range.  I've got a core 50 on it with 30 lb suffix 832.  

Very sensitive rod.

Would you throw jigs on it. And this is good to hear because I would be throwing possibly weightless or lightly weighted senkos. Thank you sir 

Would the 893c be a better choice or the heavy one I'm use to longer rods.but recently been enjoying a 7ftmh e21 original carrot Stix.

I am open to other rod choices if some knows or has personal experience with a rod that use for this application or similar

What type of weightless plastics?  Senkos would be fine. 

 

i'd stick with the 853C if you are getting a Curafo 70.  If you're getting the 893C id get a standard sized reel to help balance, if that matters.

Just weightless senkos, fat ikas, zoom ultra video speed worms. But mostly with light worm weights. If I was to go with the 893c what real would Balance out better. Thank you so much.

5his finesse jigs I use are the boyahh bitsy pro bug  it's the ball head finesse jig with mostly zoom fat albert Double tail grubs rage craw Yamamoto Double tail grubs and havoc Double tail grubs.

Unfortunately don't have 893c I have the 894c.  I have that paired with a Curado E7, still not great balance, but might balance better on a lighter rod.  Maybe someone can chime in on their thoughts.

Lets stop and think here. First you wanted a rod to throw lite jigs 3/16 to 5/16  the 853 is a great choice for that and a bit heavier lures also.  It specs 3/16 to 5/8  That is what you asked about.   As for sensitivity G Loomis GLX yes they are some of the most sensitive rods you can buy.  As for the choice between a GLX853C or GLX893C the spec and tapers are exactly the same, one is just 4 inches longer which might slightly handle longer casts and hook sets with lots of line out.  But only slightly.

 Now you say you intend to throw the weightless sencos, fat Ikas, tubes etc.  For that use I would think a GLX 852C which is still 7'1" but specs medium action with the same extra fast taper but runs 1/8 to 3/8.  At the price of these rods I would really decide what you want to do with this rod first.

Lastly match either rod up with a standard Diawa Tatula, Tatula Type R or Tatula CT.  All of these can be purchased for less than $170 and all of them will perform flawlessly.

I was only stating what I might throw on the rod besides jigs. Thank you guys so much I unfortunately deciding to go qith the helios 7ftmh nd powell 3d 7ft2 mh xf with 2 *** reels in the 8.1.1 ratio I wellil be getting the gloomis 853c  here soon thank you guys.

Well the Powell should be terrific. They make really nice mid priced rods. I own an original Powell Max 683C which is my most versatile rod in my 12 casting rod arsenal. My favorite three would be My Powell, my Irod crankbait rod ans an Ike series jerkbait rod.  If you get a chance to put an Abu Garcia Ike series rod in your hand you will be impressed as well.

Thank you I haven't really found anything on the powell rods are 3d max rods. I have 2 of the Veritas micro guide rods.
