Looking to get a new trailer

I am looking to get a new trailer for my boat. New or used in good condition. Found several in the area, some new with title, some used without. The trailer I have now does not match up with the boat so it is a PAIN to get on and off. I cannot go fishing by myself as I must have someone to pick up the bow of the boat to allow the nose to sit on the v shaped mount on the front end and the boat to trailer right. With that being said, what would you look for in buying a new trailer? Obviously good condition, must be able to fit an 18 ft center console, and preferably with a title. Any other recommendations or things to look for?

If you run salt or tidal water at all I would go galvanized or aluminum.  Try to find one that is "C" channel rather than box frame construction, they last way better. They may cost more but last way more because the salt can not rust the metal from the inside out. The trailers with simple plastic fenders and side boards do not look as fancy as the "custom" trailers but make it easy to adjust to fit the boat better.  After that, the Fulton F1 winch works well and the Fulton trailer wheel works well too.  I like at least 13 inch tires so they run slower when towing at high speed. Start by looking at your old trailer for weight capacity. It is fine to go up in spec but not down. I also like the swing away tongue trailers.

Before you go off looking to buy a new trailer, what do you have currently? If it can be adjusted to properly fit the boat, or do a few small modifications to make it better it will be a heck of a lot cheaper in the long run then buying a whole new trailer. If your current trailer is a drive on bunk style trailer it sounds like you may have the trailer in too deep on a steep landing. Otherwise, if we see what you're working with, we could suggest easy changes to help the issues you're facing.
