Cgrinder Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 The TT guys have been using Hybrid since at least the mid 2000's. They definitely have enough experience with it to write a review, LOL. Turkey, CXX if you haven't tried it. Really nothing is wrong with Hybrid. It's just sort of old tech at this point. Quote

cottny27 Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Thanks Catt..adding another "weak point" to my line is the main reason I shy away from using a leader. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted July 1, 2016 Super User Posted July 1, 2016 I like Hybrid as a compromise line. It isn't great at anything other than breaking strength but is good at a lot of different things. I have few reels spooled with it right now and am pleased with it. In my books it is a 7.5 out of 10. For the lakes I fish up here in yankee land - that might as well be Mars, lol! Sure would love to give some straight 832 a workout on that bass factory though. My next experiemnt is going to be simply straight braid on a dropshot, no leader. I gotta believe you put a bait in front of those smallies and they will eat it. We give fish (bass anyway) way too much credit for thinking. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted July 2, 2016 Super User Posted July 2, 2016 i think a lot of people believe that one uses flouro just for line visibility ( lack of ) , but i myself use it because it sinks and takes the bow out of your line , making a straight path to your bait , increasing sensitivity making the line transmit more info to you . i hate stretchy line no matter what bait/lure i'm using. braid is great for top water and shallow depth fishing and aslo short line applications . deep water , finesse, jigs , crank baits , and drop shot i use flouro main line ... Super User WRB Posted July 2, 2016 Super User Posted July 2, 2016 The reason IMO that Yo-Zuri Hybrid falls short is it's over size diameter. TT didn't ding Yo-Zuri for being over size per # test because they say 10 lb test is .012 diameter and bass anglers except this as "thick line" line. Amazing! It's 12 lb diameter line, compare it to other brands at .012 diameter then it falls further down in performance. Bottom line if you like "thick line" you will like Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Tom Quote
