mrmacwvu1 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 First off I am thankful that my family and friends are safe and sound. Many of my friends lost their houses and businesses this last week. I was out of town until Monday and when I went and saw with my own eyes the devastation that the floods caused to my state, my friends and my family all I could do was cry. But these were not only happy tears but tears of pride as I watch neighbors and strangers alike grab a shovel, grab a chainsaw and get to work. I have lived all over this country and a couple of others but I am proud to call West by God Virginia my home. 3 Quote
Turkey sandwich Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Glad to hear everyone was safe and that tragedy brought the community together. Still, very sorry to hear about friends and family losing homes/businesses. Quote
Buckeye Ron Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Glad that your family is safe. I used to know a lot of folks in Logan county and they are some of the most resilient people I ever met. Stay safe and stay together and you can get through anything. Quote

Super User Sam Posted July 1, 2016 Super User Posted July 1, 2016 Yep. West Virginia people are some of the greatest people in the world. Always seem to help each other. The devastation was mind boggling. One would expect the scope of the damage to be caused by a hurricane along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts, not inland in a mountain terrain. Even The Greenbrier suffered damage and had a golf tournament cancelled. Hope you and your family are OK and everything will start to be put back together. Prayers to you and your family and friends for a safe recovery. Quote

I believe they also have done or will do something to help out the relief/recovery efforts We had some vicious storms pass through my area of WV, but nothing like the places that got flooded 1 Quote
