I've received a couple different Livingston Lures via MTB and LTB. Let me start by saying that there is no way I would pay the $11-$15 in store asking price. With that being said, I do like the lures and they have been quality thus far. Does the electronic bait fish sounds the lures emit increase the chances of catching a fish? I doubt it, but its a nice touch. You've also got to ask yourself, how many lures in your tackle box really cost more than a $1 to make?

Is it worth it to you? That's the only real way to gauge their "worth". Most baits cost isn't in their production, it's in the R&D and materials. Livingston Lures have the little clicker, which I'm sure adds a good amount to the price. I wouldn't pay what they're asking for most of their baits, but I'll be getting a Walking Boss part II whenever I remember to order one.

Is a lure that probably cost less than $1 to make in China really worth what they are selling it for?

You may as well ask that question about 99.9999% of all fishing lures.

Actually I would say quite a few of the best lures in that price range are made in Japan.

Some, but a lot of JDM baits (I am tempted to say most but don't have hard data to back that up) are still made in China or Thailand. They're still great baits.

I've never used one but I'm curious. Is a lure that probably cost less than $1 to make in China really worth what they are selling it for?

There's no way they can make and ship them for that you are very mistaken. You can buy a super spook that is the simplest plug ever for 6$ of course a plug with lights, sensors and chirping noises are going to be more espensive. I got a pro sizzle this week and caught two nice bass on it. The hooks seemed a little dull for a premium lure but I can always change them out. I got the lure 10$ shipped on ebay. I have 15-20$ lures in my tackle box that I've never caught a fish with. So even though originally I thought it was a gimmick I like the product and will buy more. Def will look into walking boss 1 and 2. I had dinks following the huge profile of the pro sizzle so Idk if I would buy a JR size.1466987840551.jpg

I bought a few to try out. Deep cranks, mid range, wake, and topwater and can honestly say that at this time I feel they are not worth the hype and do not plan on purchasing more

Look at the Lobina Rico.  Would you pay $20 for that lure?  Looks like a Rebel Pop'R to me.  I wouldn't pay it....but that's just me.  LOT'S of guys do and they are justified in doing so because, to them, it is worth it.  To each his own.  Even better example....take a look at the Roman Made Swim baits.  HOLY COW!!!
