This is the closest forum I could find related to the subject.

I have a Colorado with a 5'3" bed. Not big enough for rods, and having them inside the cab isn't very pleasant for the passenger on long trips.

Does anyone know of a rod holding system for a truck bed? I've looked, but most all I can find is rod holders for fishing off a truck at the beach.

Your issue is the 5'3 bed period. There are some nice systems that carry rods and tackle in drawers but they are for full size trucks with long beds.  Now you could put a rack system together. Use large diameter pvc tubing bolted to the rack from the inside and end caps that you can lock like I see some plumbers carry.  it will take some creativity. Otherwise you will have to fish 2 piece rods.

My Sonoma had a 6ft bed. I used these on mine. Worked great. It's called the rodsman. I actually have 2 sets I'd let go cheap. Don't own a truck anymore. @Zeeter

Rippin's idea looks pretty promising, otherwise you could make some sort of rack out of PVC that would work for you

I like the setup Rippin has, however I'm putting a tonneau cover on and that won't work.

Diagonal won't work as they'll stick out. This 5'3" bed really is too small. I have to put my rods in the corner of the back seat and up through the passenger seat. That's the only way I can get the up to 7' rod to fit.
