Would you guys throw a spinnerbait and chatterbait on a 7 ft medium heavy  7:1:1 gear ratio reel with 15 pound fluoro ?

I do it all the time, but with mono.

I do it with 12lb mono. Dont see anything wrong with 15lb fluorocarbon.

Should work fine especially for burning them. A slower more powerful ratio would be better if you are using heavy Colorado bladed spinnerbaits fished slow and deeper.

I'm a big fan of glass or composite for those baits.  I use a 7ft H glass rod with 17 to 20lb flouro.  Works really great for me.  Your setup would definitely work fine, just giving another opinion.

Yea that'll work just fine. I also prefer a glass rod for spinners and chatterbaits but what your using is fine. I use a 7'6" dobyns champion series MH paired with a shimano curado 201 6.3.1 with 15lb fluoro. Works like a charm. The way the glass loads when a fish hits, it's like they set the hook on themselves. Tight lines!

I wouldn't want that fast of a reel for them but if it works for you then go for it.

Yes, but I only fish Fast Action with single hooks. Moderate or Slow is for treble hooks.

Yep there's no reason not to. I prefer a shorter rod as it gives me a leg up on accuracy, but if you feel comfortable with that it'll work!

I threw spinnerbaits on my 7:1 Lews for a couple of weeks and went back to a 6.4:1 as soon as I could. For me, it was much easier to control my speed and reel faster than it was to slow down.

The 7:1 would also substantially load my rod when retrieving. It was mentioned somewhere else about how the gear ratio not only affects the speed of the retrieve but also the torque applied. The 6.4:1 is much more manageable for me.

Sounds good to me, except I like a moderate fast graphite rod or a glass rod
