Honkytonk Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Hey all, I was wanting some input. I'm thinking about buying a jdm scorpion 1500. I have a chronarch200e7, would the scorpion be a better reel? Or should I just get another chronarch or curado? Quote
Molay1292 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Not trying to be a wise guy, but I would bet if a guy did an internet search on this subject he would get enough information to be an expert on the subject in no time. Seriously, this has been discussed a zillion times in a zillion places. 1 Quote
nameiztaken Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Not sure which edition scorpion you are referencing, but from what I can tell you won't be disappointed, plus... that color! Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted June 28, 2016 Super User Posted June 28, 2016 Same reel, different color. I have them both. Hootie 2 Quote
OnthePotomac Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Don't overlook the new Curado 70, which comes in an 8.2:1 version in the 70XG model.. I have two and they are really incredibly great reels. Shimano really hit the jackpot with this reel. Small, light, fast and smooth, but $200 a pop. They have a smaller line capacity, but I have not noticed a problem because of it. Both reels are spooled with 12lb fluorocarbon with mono backing on 7' MH Carbonlite rods and I use them for fishing plastics. I like them more than my Curado 50E's. Quote
timsford Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 The scorpion 1500 is same as curator with different color. The chronarch is the next reel above both. Quote
