Shallow water anchor on Tin

I'm looking at putting a shallow water anchor on my xpress X19TS.  Im not set on power pole or talon yet but leaning towards talon so I can get 12' instead of 8' on the power pole (I know they make 10' but way to tall). My question, can I get away with 1 talon or will that not hold well enough? Don't have the funds for 2 right now but worried about bad front end swing. I think if I position my self right on the wind/current I'll be OK? 

Also plan on waiting till there's a sale going on. Hard time spend the full asking price. Anyone know of any deals out there?

Plastic milk crate, 50' of 3/4" anchor rope and 20 lb navy anchor. Anchoring takes about 30 seconds, works in 2' to 40' of water, little messy* and doesn't cost a fraction of power poles Depends if you want to anchor or look cool.

1 pole (or anchor) at the stern works depending on the wind and waves, use your trolling motor to pivot the front of the boat for position.

* the crate keeps the rope organized with the anchor setting on top until your lower it into the water and tie off the rope with a few feet of slack to allow the anchor to hold. I use this often at night.

Ive got 1 talon on a 20ft tin.  It does what i need it to do. If you are a bed fisherman 2 would be the way to go. If not, 1 is adequate for most situations.  Using it as a pivot in conjunction with the trolling motor is a real handy way to fish docks without ever moving

You can install one talon and purchase a pole like a Dig In shallow water anchor.  Max Gain sells the parts to make a pole setup that can be unscrewed like a pool cue. Makes storing them in a rod box easy and out of the way.  Other sources for these are King Pin and Neptune.  If your cleats are on top of the top cap Neptune has a nice  pvc steel anchor loop.  Just attach to the cleat when needed and insert the pole. These are inexpensive too.  One other thing Max Gain offers is the pieces to turn your anchor pole into a push pole if needed.

I have an 18 foot tin bass boat with one stern mount 12 foot talon.  I wish I had two as well but one is expensive enough.  Like what was already mentioned, you can kind of use it as a pivot point with the bow mount if you want to.  Two power pole micros may also be an option as they are each rated at 1500 pounds and cost far less to buy and are easier to install.

I guess pivoting on the trolling motor works okay around a dock if you only fish in lakes with little current. I do not think it will work if you fish faster moving rivers or like I do I fish in tidal water. Except for about 4 twenty minute periods a day we have pretty fast moving currents and if you add the wind you can really crank up the current. To rely on the trolling motor around shallow docks means you will spook the fish. I think adding an anchor pole in addition to a Talon would work well and be pretty cheap.  A pole can be setup for less than $70

I'm running 2 talons with out a problem.  Well the only problem was just having one at first

I have one on my glass boat and while I'd rather have 2, 1 does me just fine. I have fished out of a buddies 17 foot tin with 1 talon and it does just fine.
