This is a tourney question but I believe it brings in this form.  I'm in a tournament this weekend, weigh in ends at 4 but you can bring fish in anytime.  There is no set start time just honesty policy that the fish is not from the day before/another lake. So I was wondering to give my self the best advantage when should I go out, 7:30 like a normal tournament or early? Thanks for the help. This is in northern Wisconsin and the weather will be sunny and 80 Saturday

i like to be ready to fish as the sun comes up, only for the top water bite and to get the lake to myself for awhile.

I would be on the water at sunrise for a topwater bite and I would bring your lunch and plenty of fluids and fish until 4. The more time fishing, the more chances of winning. A good morning bite could do wonders for your overall weight come weigh-in.

7:30 is normal?  It's usually been safe light, unless it's a bigger open, where it starts just after inspections, which takes you to a few minutes after sunrise.

Tournaments for me have never been based on the clock. It's always been 30min before sunrise or at sunrise. Since you guys aren't doing a shotgun start i'd start moving in the dark/gray.

Thank you guys, It makes sense the longer I'm out there the more opportunity to put the winning fish in my live-well.

No start time, no inspection, hope no money is involved.

Start 12.01 am return at 3:45 pm.

If earlier than safe light is allowed then I'd probably get to a favorite spot and be there and ready when the sun rolls out

I like to be out on the water as soon as I can see without a headlamp.

12:01am to as late as you can get away with haha. Around first light should be good though. What lake is this tourney on?

No official start time, as long as you don't fish on the previous day?  Sounds like I would be out there at 12:01am. sharp to get the most possible fishing time in.
