fishinfool Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 I just bought a 46lb 42" shaft Minn Kota Bass Pro Tournament Series this weekend while I was at the Bass Pro in Myrtle Beach. Man I love that place. It comes out of the package with just the + and - terminals and no way to hook it up to my 12v outlet, where can do I get the piece to connect to the wires to my outlet and what is that piece called? ??? By the way, I installed the motor on my bass boat last night and everything went perfect, not one problem at all ;D, except for the fact that I don't have power to it yet, but hopefully someone will have the answer to that problem. If you could give me a link to a picture of the item that would be even better, i'm sure BPS has what I need, but i'm not even sure what it is called. Thanks guys. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 Not sure what you are looking for. Do you have a receptacle clip on your boat and you want to use that? If so, you can cut off the male end from your old motor and splice it.. or Are you saying the wires have no attaching pieces (gator clamps,"u"- leads ) to connect to battery? I'm pretty sure they all come from the factory with clips or somthing on the end of the wires. If it's a plug you are looking for, you will probably be able to find it here: https://www.trollingmotorparts.com/MinnKotaElectricalItems.htm Quote
fishinfool Posted August 15, 2005 Author Posted August 15, 2005 https://www.trollingmotorparts.com/18-1055.jpg I think this is what I need, would this be easy to connect to the wires on the TM? Right now the wires on my TM can be directly connected to the batteries, but I plan on hooking it up to the recepticle on the bow. Quote
gamblerOH Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 any boat store has these plugs, and most tackle stores also have them, heck i've even seen them at wal-mart. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 And they are very easy to install yourself. Once you get it and look at it, it will be self-explanatory. If not, repost and we'll be happy to help you out. Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 I bought my plug at Walmart,of all places, spliced it to the wire that connects to the battery, and I'm ready to go. Quote
Ben Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Home Depot or Lowes, in the elecrical dept. If it's like what's in most, it's nothing but twist lock electrical connector. Make sure you measure yours and get the exact pin configuration and size, there are several different types/sizes. If it has a number on it you can see would be even better, probably on the side under the mouting though. Quote
