Josh_Bovaird Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 So as many of you know I posted before about getting into rod building. Well I never got around to posting pictures of the rod and still don't have great pictures but maybe these will make up for it. I had a blast on the build and can't wait to build another. Heres a few pictures of the fish I've caught on the rod though. 5 Quote

crypt Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 how do you like the Winn Grips, been looking to do them on my next build. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted June 25, 2016 Super User Posted June 25, 2016 Winn grips are the real thing. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 The Winn grips are nice but they require a little extra care when installing. They need to be reamed closer to size than EVA and you have to be sure to not twist the skin off. 1 Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted June 25, 2016 Super User Posted June 25, 2016 that looks really nice man! congrats! Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 The Winn grips are so plush they may give the mis impression of being non durable. I haven't had any complaints of such as of yet. Quote
Josh_Bovaird Posted June 26, 2016 Author Posted June 26, 2016 I could see that DVT, they definitely are soft Quote

I haven't had any complaints of such as of yet. my only winn grip experience is with golf clubs. while they are no doubt the most comfortable grip in the golf game, they are not known for their durability which does make me hesitant on the fishing grip. Although, i've yet to hear a single bad thing about the fishing winn grips so they may be a totally different animal. i'm slowly getting more interested in them! Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Seems to me a golf grip would get a lot more stress than a Rod grip. Only time will tell. Quote
