Hello fellow fishermen and women.

I moved to Maryland about two years ago and am just now getting back into fishing. It's been over ten years since I fished regularly and I have been enjoying it the two times that I've been out. Thus far it has only been at Loch Raven Reservoir, but if anyone knows of some other spots please let me know. I don't have a boat, so it would need to be a place where I can either fish from shore or rent a boat.

Also up for getting together with some of you fine people and heading out to a lake somewhere. Look me up if you need a fishing partner some weekend. I might be interested in joining a club, as well. Like I said - new to Maryland and so it would be good to get out and meet some people.

Welcome again. Since yo live in Aberdeen check out Mariner Park (it is located in Harford County off Route 40  just below Edgewood). it is a county park with boat launching ramp, picknick tables, walking paths in the woods and places with wood structures hanging out over the Gunpowder River. Often times guys will fish from those structure.  Also down by me, in Middle River, there is a park called Wilson Point Park. It is located by Martin State Airport.  It also has a launch ramp as well as a park with kids swings, picknick tables and a boardwalk of sorts. Many people fish off that. I have seen some nice perch and cats come from fishing there.  Those are just a few.  Maybe we can meet next week and do some shore fishing.  As I said earlie,r I am not able to go out in the boat till my foot heals, but the doc never said I can sit and fish from shore!!!

Thanks fishnkamp - question for you since you're local. What size Senkos are they biting on this time of year? Back in PA we would use 4". Maybe a little smaller late in the season.

4 and 6 inch.  Hey when you get a chance jump over to BayBass.com.  My friend Bryan runs that site.  He is one of the best teachers i have ever fished with, also he is literally a fish vacuum cleaner!  He grew up on Middle River and in fact at Wilson Point. Everyday when he came home from school there sat a 17 foot Tracker at the end of the pier. He know where all of the dead bodies are in this area, all of the rock piles, drop off, etc.  I asked him to come up and fish off my 17 foot aluminum bass boat and got a college degree from him.  Anyway his website is dedicated to just fishing in MD.and Northern VA.  He expects himself and his pro staff to give real time fishing reports, the where, when and how to's just for this region. Go surf his forums and fishing reports.  The how to's and wheres are priceless.
