best way to fish a senko

Hey yall, I have always fishing  senko weightless texas rigged and I want to know what people think are the best ways to fish a senko. I also would like to know how to fish a wacky rig. does the clearity of the water effect anything? I live in ohio and we have very muddy water and I was wondering if changes anything.

"Best" is relative. Weightless TX, weightless wacky, 
or weighted of either works great.

Water clarity? Maybe, maybe not. Tonight I caught 
bass on a weightless, wacky junebug "senko" and 
on drop shot, a green pumpkin/watemelon shad-
shaped worm.

Water varied depending on location from green/clear
to green/cloudy.

For Wacky, simply bend your worm in half, and place
your hook in the bend, perpendicularly.

What ever you do, start fishing slowly. Let the worm 
fall, give it a three twitch up, then let it fall, and work
it back to you.

Vary from very very slow to a little faster.

I've actually been experimenting with weightless and weighted Senko texas rigs. Both seem to work fine although the weighted ones bring in more fish for me. It seems the weightless one gets more bites though. It will also depend heavily on how you retrieve, try making the worm look natural under the water.

I fish in Virginia and its usually clear water, I've only once fished in absolutely muddy water with very minimal success.

thanks for the info! I hope to try some new rigs this week, but I need some worm weights too before that.

A small bullet weight will do the job, not too heavy just the size of the senko's head.

I always fish them on spinning gear and light line (6-10) and typically T-rigs.  I use 3/0 hooks (round bend usually, but I've been using Mustad EWG's lately) and almost always weightless.  1/8 oz. is the heaviest weight I use, if any.  Use 5'' for aggressive/big fish and 4'' for smaller/picky fish.  I like dark colors and chartreuse tails for dirty and muddy water.

I make short casts right along the bank and close to structure (into the shade, into or next to grass/lilly pads, or near brush piles or tree limbs).  Then I let it fall and hit the bottom.  Pick it up with your rod tip, NOT THE REEL, and twitch it a little.  Then let it fall again and repeat.  WATCH YOUR LINE.  If you see it do anything weird set the hook.
