irod stone cold swim and bladed jig rod

Hey guys, I just ordered a new Irod it's the stone cold swim jig/bladed jig rod 3/8-1oz to replace an old rod. I got this rod to be my primary swim jig/4.5inch hollow body swim bait rod. Iv always threw these baits on an medium heavy/fast tip rod. When I ordered rod I saw it was a medium heavy swim jig rod so thought I'd give it a try. It has not came in yet but after looking closer to
Other forums it is a medium heavy/ moderate fast tip. Always heard you wanted a fast tip for single hook baits. Just wondering if anyone has used one of these rods or what your thought on it is. I fishing Toledo/ Rayburn so not just super thick grass but mild. Usually throw 3/8-1/2oz swim jig. To sum this up just wondering if you think I can get a solid hook set on in grass wth a moderate fast tip? Thanks

I use a Daiwa Tatula rod that is a MH/R for all of my swim jigs, bladed jigs and spinner bait applications. The Daiwa Tatula Regular action is basically a Moderate Fast and that is the only type of rod I will use for these types of baits. You should not have nay problems at all, I have never had any issue getting a good hook set or any problems fishing moderate to thick grass.

Welcome aboard Swimjigger!!

I will only use a moderate fast action for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and swim jigs because you can get good casting distance and you have some flex in the rod to set the hook.You should not have any issues with the rod.

I purchased this same rod earlier this season for the same thing you are going to use it for. I love the rod. You will be very pleased with your purchase. I like it so much, that I am planning on buying another to throw bladed jigs.
