Please somebody help me

Alright i'm a beginner bass angler, and i want upgrade from spinning reel and rod to a casting reel and rod. I'm a right handed, so what retrieve reel that i should choose ? Right retrieve or left retrieve my previos spinning reel is left retrieve

lol-great first post  whichever you want.  I retrieve all my reels with my left hand but many switch between right and left for casting and spinning gear.

I'm a rightie and I reel with my right hand, always since Ive been a kid. Do what your most comfy with, unless your trying to tourney fish. If so then there's the argument that you lose to many casts by taking time to switch hands. Me I don't fish tourneys, it would take all of the relaxation out of fishing, and that's the main reason I fish.

I understand you confusion Desmonda. I taught myself to use a baitcaster with a little help from Hank Parker and Bill Dance (back then we didn't have Youtube). I figured that if I reeled with my left hand when I was using a spinning reel it must be the same with a baitcaster. Well it doesn't have to be that way. You can use either hand but if you cast with your right hand you are gonna have to switch hands when you start reeling a right handed reel. Also right handed reels are more common on the market and you have alot more choices with right handed reels than lefts. I learned how to retrieve with both right and left but prefer left cause I can start retrieving the bait sooner and that helps if you are throwing a lure like a buzz bait. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I reel a spinning reel with my left hand and a baitcaster with my right, however I can use both right or left without any issue I just feel like I can finesse baits with my left arm better.

When I made the transition from spinning to casting, I found that going with left handed reels was much more natural for me.  20 years later, I'm still buying left handed baitcasters.  I do use righthand reels on my flipping sticks only because the handle interferes with my line.  You don't really use the reel much when your flipping anyway.  Good Luck

Yup that's right i'm go fishing just for fun and relaxation thank you sir for the suggestion

Yes sir , the other day i were in my local bass pro shop, and i tried the left and right retrieve baitcast combo, and the right retrieve felt so uncomfortable but the left retrieve feel usual. So probably i will choose a left handed retrieve, thanks for helped sir Gundog ??

You just have to try both ways and find you own comfort. 

When I used to use spinning setups  I casted with my right and reeled with my left. However for casting I cast right and reel right, and pitch from either. 

I have never lost a fish because of the transition. It just feels better. There is no right or wrong.

Yup no one can tell you what is comfortable to you. Try them out and see what works for you. 

Not sure but tackelwarehouse use to have a program to send you a reel to actually try. Might check on it as a option. It's very hard to mimic real world use in a store.

I'm a righty that uses all left handed retrieve. It feels very awkward to me trying to do it the other way. Plus with a big fish I do t want my weak arm holding the Rod.

Spinning left and casting right. Tried LH casting but its was just funky. Don't know if it's mental or what since a RH spinning feels just as awkward. Do what feels best.

i have no weak arm

that said, i'm also a righty that uses left hand retrieve lures.  i started out with right handed retrieve, but realized "i was doing it wrong!"
