Luke at Gouldsboro Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Hi everyone, I want to start punching some heavy(ish) mats, and I don't want to buy punching weights. Does anybody have a do it yourself solution or any ways to rig a bullet weight for punching? Thanks!! Quote
Turtle135 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 how dense are the mats you want to punch? would you need a one ounce bullet weight in tungsten to punch through them? Quote
bass crazy Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I believe I have seen bare unpainted punch weights that you can put skirts on the internet. Or it possible could have been a mold for pouring punch weights. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 15, 2016 Global Moderator Posted June 15, 2016 Do it makes a punch weight mold but it only goes to 9/16oz. I have it and it works well for thinner vegetation or laydowns. I just tie my own skirts onto it but you could buy banded skirts and do the same. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 15, 2016 Super User Posted June 15, 2016 I got a bunch of old bell type sinkers from my Dad's old tackle box that we used back when we fished for cat a lot. I got a pair of heavy cutters and removed the wire that went down the center of the weights. 3 Quote

Global Moderator Mike L Posted June 20, 2016 Global Moderator Posted June 20, 2016 If I understand your question. ..Just buy any bullet weight you want in the size you want and peg it to the hook useing a bobber stop or an insert. Mike 2 Quote
