Al pastor tacos are the best tacos on planet earth.  Originating in Mexico City, they are a variant of a Lebanese dish made with lamb.  In Mexico, they use pork.

Being such a huge fan, and the wife being an exceptional cook, I purchased a commercial vertical broiler to make them correctly.  Also had it converted to liquid propane from natural gas.  Should arrive this week!

I love tacos al pastor.  There is a guy on youtube called ballistic BBQ and he does a pretty good version without the vertical broiler.  Pics of the result would be much appreciated!

One of my favorites.  Will be heading to Mexico City in 9 days.....can't wait to hit the foot jackpot!   Carnitas are my other go to food.

They have one of those broilers with lamb on it at my favorite Greek place, shave it off right into your gyro

I used to live in Mexico and that is one thing I miss the most

It was nothing like stopping in and order 4 or 5 of those and washing it down with some ice cold beer

Between those and the fish tacos I used to get in San Diego I think I could eat those every day

Best tacos evar. Every new Mexican place I go, I first try their AL pastor or street tacos. If they can't get those right, next!
