I've had a rough start to 2016. I've had 3 ghosts break so far and a Fenwick end up in the lake. Anyone had bad luck like this before?

I've never had that much bad luck with rods in a year, but I had a pretty bad day last year. In one afternoon, I stepped on one rod and squished a guide, and I kicked another one off the deck of my boat never to be seen again.

Something must be wrong with you, I´ve fished for more than 40 years, own a lot of rods and in all those 40+ years I´ve broken 3 rods, 2 of those breaks were my very own stupidity.

I lost 3 Megabass 110's to pike before I decided to use a leader. Once the leader was on, I couldn't get a bite. I took the leader off and lost my last 110 that I brought with me.

Oh yeah...I also snapped a Fenwick Smallmouth elite on a snag that trip.

Sometimes you just need to crack a beer and laugh it off.

I crushed one of the favorite rods ever, the discontinued Dobyns Champion Extreme DX792sf, in a rod locker. The lid fell on it and chopped it in half like a guillotine.

I once broke a villain while trying unsnag a pointer, had a friend ruin an entire spool of tatsu, lost four pointers, one megabass, two blade baits, and seven Ned rigs.  At the end of that day I was ready to scream.

I think you win this one. I have never heard of anyone have that bad a day on the water. Earlier in the year my mom accidentally kicked my abu garcia revo/ veritas into the lake. The next day my other veritas snapped in half.

It still was an extremely expensive day, but it made me feel a little better cause I only paid fifty dollars for the villain.

I paid 80 for the pair of veritas rods so that eased the pain .

I'm not really sure how it happened, but I inherited my dad's fishing tackle when he passed. After a examination of his poles, I understood why he wasn't much into fishing the last few years. 3 nice rods, all about 3"-6" shorter than they should have been! I remember him snapping a Fenwick on a snag on his second cast and I recall our fishing vacation when he put on in the drink.

I just broke the tip of my legend extreme transporting it in a bazooka telescoping rod tube.  Good thing it's a St Croix.

Those of you who watch him know who I'm talking about, lol, there's this youtuber who has been taking guys out on Gary Yamamoto's ranch ponds, seems like every trip they break two or three rods  It's like a curse.
