AndrewJ Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I did not know where else to post this on here. I know we have a lot of fishermen and women from Florida and I assume the Orlando Area. In the wake of the horrible act of terrorism, I just want to say that my heart goes out to all of you from the area. I pray no one was effected or had any family or friends effected by this tragedy. 7 Quote
Super User geo g Posted June 13, 2016 Super User Posted June 13, 2016 Ditto with your comments. Its a real tragedy. Insanity and assault weapons is a terrible combination! God bless all involved. Quote

A bat, knife, BB gun etc. Please educate yourself before making ridiculous comments. I have a couple "assault rifles" and they have never assaulted anyone. People do the assaulting, not the weapon. 6 Quote

I don't really feel like he was making any delineation between "assault weapons". You've got crazies in China that go around and stab dozens of people, you've got crazies in India that randomly throw acid on people on buses, you've got crazies in America that shoot up planned parenthood clinics. His point remains the same: insanity and assault weapons are a bad combination. P.S. I own "assault rifles" which are actually categorized as semi-automatic high-caliber rifles, typically with high-capacity magazines. 1 Quote

Any LEO on TV will refer to them as a long gun. Ever heard a reporter say he was stabbed with an "assault knife"? No, because it doesn't serve an agenda. 4 Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted June 14, 2016 Super User Posted June 14, 2016 This thread is an example of what is the problem really. A post about a tragedy gets turned into some sort of political agenda either for or against the weapon of choice. bottom line is people were killed for reasons unbeknownst to any of us and it could have been worse......my prayers go out to those families who lost someone in this act of domestic terrorism. 16 Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted June 14, 2016 Super User Posted June 14, 2016 Thanks flyfisher. Lets keep this on point people. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted June 14, 2016 Super User Posted June 14, 2016 maybe, maybe not, we really don't know that for a fact but ultimately at this point it doesn't matter which is the point. Innocent people were killed. 1 Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted June 14, 2016 Super User Posted June 14, 2016 Yes it does matter at this point, before this point, and in the future. There are people that dont believe certain others should live cause of a lifestyle, shouldnt sweep it under the rug so we dont hurt their feeling. 1 Quote

Ergo, it's NOT about speculation, laws (or lack thereof), personal beliefs or political statements. Read the quote above again, and choose your words wisely. 5 Quote

AndrewJ Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 I just wanted to state that I did not post this to debate gun laws or to debate the actions that occured. I posted this so that our members from Florida knew that there were people praying for them... For what its worth. 6 Quote

According to the latest bits of news, the perp was also a regular at the club where this happened and had a profile on an app that solicited individuals of 'similar interest'. I won't link it, but I'm sure you can find it. 1 Quote
