iiTzChunky Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 First off, I wanna thank Glenn for putting together such a great topic on senkos. I can truly say that I'm sold on these great soft baits. Well under an hour of starting fishing these and I had 2 bites (which I missed setting the hook on) but finally I had a bite and set the hook reallu well, I don't have a scale or tape measure for checking size but I'm really happy with it being my first catch. Also proud of myself for stick to the same bait, I have made it a bad habit of switch out lures after 10-15 min, and not truly using the bait to its potential. Well worth standing out in 90+ degree heat for a few hours. Needless to say I'm definitely hooked on bass fishing and I don't see myself not spending any spare time around some body of water holding fish anytime soon. On a side note, does anyone have any experience with melting down used torn up senkos and molding them into new ones here? If so, please shoot me a msg I have a few questions. 9 Quote

Super User fishinfiend Posted June 13, 2016 Super User Posted June 13, 2016 first of many. Great job dude! Quote
MikeWright Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I had the same problem taking too many lures and switching too often, thinking the bass didn't like what I was giving them. I went out today with one intention, catch a bass on a baby brush hog, and that I did. Nice catch, I should try a senko next!! Quote
AndrewJ Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Congrats on your first of many bass I am sure. I have to admit I never though about saving my old torn plastics and melting them down to make new ones. Ill have to look into how you go about doing that, so thank you for the idea. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 13, 2016 Super User Posted June 13, 2016 Congrats! I use my old plastic baits as jig trailers. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted June 13, 2016 Super User Posted June 13, 2016 nice going man, first bass, but it won't be the last! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted June 14, 2016 Super User Posted June 14, 2016 Well done! And so the addiction begins... Quote
iiTzChunky Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 Went out to the local pond, got me 3 juvenile bass, still don't have a scale but I'm sure they weren't more then a pound. But 3 in one day is really boosting my confidence. Was also my first time using a jig. Clearly worked very well in the vegetation. Quote

I had been fishing for a month or so with nothing till this weekend. Now that I'm starting getting the hang of it it's only gonna get better from here. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted June 14, 2016 Super User Posted June 14, 2016 Congrats on the first one! I hope there are many to follow. Quote
