Picked up my third Mojo Bass rod in the last two weeks. I'm really impressed with the sensitivity of these rods. Unbelievable for a $120.00 rod. Oh, that is the second generation Mojos I am talking about.

I'm gonna have to pick up a Mojo. I still have a first generation Mojo, and while it is an ok rod, I'm not in love with it. I have heard a lot of good things about the Mojo 2s. It's about time to buy another rod anyway...

That's good to hear!  Is it stiff still?  That was my beef overall for St Croix rods.

Yes, stiff as a pool que. That was always my preference. Most of my Loomis rods are heavy power. The Shimano crucial is stiff for a medium heavy, just like the Mojos.

There really is a big difference between the rods IMO: much lighter and more sensitive. You'll definitely like it

Do you think the Mojo is more sensitive than the Crucial?

Depends on who's holding it.

Seems like it to me. But then again that's subjective.

I wouldn't buy a Crucial any longer, I'd rather buy a Zodias rod.

Well, I don't have any of the newer Crucials but I have a bunch of the old original cork handled models.  I also have a bunch of St. Croix Avids (SCIII) and I think the Crucials are pretty close in sensitivity to the Avid.  Maybe not quite equal, but pretty close.   Always thought the Crucial fished well above it's price point.  It's good to know the new gen Mojo is in this league and for their price that comes to pretty incredible value. Great subject Hootie!

That's a big change ... I bought one in '13 and didn't find it a great feeling rod.... maybe it's time to revisit the brand....

How do these compare to the BPS Carbonlite rod?

Buy a Mojo.  I like my Carbonlite, but love my wife's Mojo. My wife thinks the Carbonlite feels "dead" in comparison. To be fair, her Mojo is ML XF and my Carbonlite is MF, but it is still a big difference between the two.

I would hurry up and buy one quickly though before Hootie snatches them all up.

How do you tell between 1st Gen and 2nd Gen MOJO

Gen one is scii, gen two is sciii. It's printed on the blank. Also, above the Mojo Bass logo, are the letters, "IPC".

I agree.  I bought one and, after fishing it, bought another.  Excellent value!

Tight lines,
