P-Line Fluoroclear reviews?

I recently purchased some P-Line fluoroclear co-polymer 10 lb test line. I wanted to test it out on some jigs for largemouth bass, and have heard many bad reviews about it. Has anyone had a problem with this line before? I usually use braided line when fishing with jigs but kinda wanna try some fluorocarbon. Should I stick with braid?

There is no "should". Line choice is a matter of personal preference for the type of lure and conditions in the waters you fish. Flouro, braid, co poly and yes to some mono, is used for jig fishing. Over the years I've used them all for jigs and other bottom contact baits (except mono) and they all have thier place for me. 

Now I use 20# Floroclear exclusively on my dedicated jig setup regardless of conditions, except when punching very heavy matted cover.

Thanks mike but do you think 10 lb fluoro is enough for jigs? and have u broken off any at all?

Depends on your water and the weight of your jig. 10# would be great for finesse jigs and IMHO nothing heavier than a 1/4 oz but only in open water and ligntly scattered vegetation.

I have not had a break off that I could honestly blame the line itself for. Be carefull when tieing your knot and if and when you get a backlash DO NOT cink it..That is where the breakoff WILL happen with any flouro line.

next to Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Yes, there are many
who absolutely hate it, but there are those
of us who like it a lot. So this is a line that
you'll just have to try for yourself.  

My PLFC goes from 6-15# test and I use
it as leader material. Very good line, and 
I rarely had line breaks. The 10# should be
a great all-around line for you.

I use it for leader on striper and catfish poles and have caught some really nice fish using this line. Strong, good knot strength. Since your using it as mainline be careful not to kink it while picking out a backlash

I use 6# Fluoroclear on my finesse setup and have been using it for a season or two with no complaints. It works quite well and I'm very happy with it. I have a large spool so when respooling time comes I will probably put it on again. After that, it'll be a tossup between that and 10 lb. braid (for sensitivity).

I have tried it as a main line, but it has so much memory I have come to hate it.  I haven't had any problems with breaking off, and the knot strength is decent, but the casting distance in squat and it is forever getting tangled because of the memory.  I do use the fifteen pound as a leader, it actually has pretty good abrasion resistance and knot strength.  And the memory doesn't matter at all with leaders.  

But some people love it, and some don't, so even though I hate it I would still recommend trying it since its super cheap anyways.  I might take it up to at least twelve pound test for fishing jigs though.

You don't have to stick with braid, just don't use fluoroclear  It's crap - obviously just my opinion, but I'll never respool it on anything again. If you want to try fluoro, buy a true fluorocarbon like Invis-X, BPS, Trilene 100% or one of the other generally well regarded floros on the market. If you want to stick to a hybrid, buy Yozuri instead.

I use P-Line Floroclear and have never had it break off when fishing jigs with it.  I use 10lbs line for my swim jigs 1/4oz to 5/16oz and 12lbs line and up for jig fishing.  Just be careful when tying your line and retie frequently to help avoid any problems.

Ive also read a lot of bad reviews on it, but I like it so far. Ive only used it in 20# for a swimbait rod and it casts great and I personally don't see any memory problems with it. Ive had zero breaks offs and not one single backlash with it yet. I like it. Don't know how well it works in lighter weights like 10# though.

I love their CXX for crankbaits and large swim baits. I use their 100% Fluorocarbon for leader on everything that isn't straight braid. 

They've never let me down.

I've fished the 8lb on a wacky rig in some pretty gnarly stuff and I've never broke off. I also used the 4lb for trout fishing in wyoming and it held up perfectly against some pretty big cutthroat!

I use it in 6# as leader and I like it. Definitely not as abrasion resistant as  cxx though.

I don't know if I got a bad batch of pline, but had had a ton of hook set break offs on 12lb line. It wasn't at the knot, it was in the middle of the line.  It was fresh line.  I had been using seaguar before and wanted to try pline. I never had an issue with break offs using seaguar. I now use what's left of the pline as backing.
