Bassmaster3616 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 So I'm wondering if senkos are good for small ponds. And what colors are best for stained water with few weeds? Should I fish them wacky? Texas rigged? I have the colors green pumpkin/watermelon and green pumpkin black flake and have caught a few but not a ton Quote
Super User Scott F Posted June 9, 2016 Super User Posted June 9, 2016 Very good on any water. Wacky or Texas rig, nearly any color will work. 3 Quote

My favorite is wacky, and I like the 4" versions the most. I like to stick to "natural" color variants like watermelon or green pumpkin magic, junebug, and so on. I've had success with many colors, though. If you have a Bass Pro nearby, try their house brand, the Stik-O in those colors. Less expensive but they work extremely well by my experience. Quote

kcdinkerz Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Yes they are great, I pitch them to areas where I think might hold fish. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted June 9, 2016 Super User Posted June 9, 2016 yes they flat out work! i like them wacky rigged. if the water is muddy or stained try you a darker color like black or junebug. Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted June 9, 2016 Super User Posted June 9, 2016 yes senkos work great for small ponds Quote
Oklahoma Mike Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 One of the more productive baits in the ponds I fish, both T-rigged or wacky. Quote
Fish4bigfish Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Oh yea! here in nor cal we have clear water and I use senkos when I have to catch fish. I have caught several fish over 5 lbs on them! Quote
Caliyak Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 The question should be: why haven't I been using senkos in a pond? LOL Quote
