This is the jon boat I am currently customizing. It has 3 distinctive features for a 12' jon.

1. The hole in the front seat for storage

2. The seats are ALL wide (most jons the rear seat is wider than the forward 2 seats) and they all have a lip on both sides.

3. The boat is incredibly stable due to its 55" width and extra high gunnels.

I am wondering the approximate age of the boat and I am wondering if anyone can tell me the make?

If the boat still has the vin plate the year will be the last 2 digits. Have your DMV run the vin # and this should tell you what you need to know. The plate will be located on the right(starboard)side rear of the boat. Assuming it still has a vin plate.I think anything made after the mid  70's was required to have a vin #. If it has never had a plate then you can be sure its older than that.

I have 2 vin tags on the boat and the last 2 digits are "64"!!!!!   This boat is over 40 yrs old!!!  Holy crap.  Still very structurally sound.  I guess I'll have to ask the registry the make when I get it registered.

'Is that spelling correct? Googled "Ouachita" and didn't come up with anything boat related other than a lake Ouachida'

Its Lake Ouachita in the Ouachita Mountains of Southern Arkansas.  Good fishing.  Dont know anything about the boat though.

YUP It is an OLD MONARK. I had a 16 fter that I used to chase strippers here on the chattahoochee river. Had a 20 merc jacked up so I could negotiate the shoals. I still miss that old boat       unlike some of my old lady friends. LOL
