Ok, I know this is going to sound funny, when looking at pictures of Baitcasters and actually holding and using one, does anyone else look at these things and think " THIS THING IS REALLY A WORK OF ART!"

I do, the engineering and machining behind some of these reels are great to look at.  I really like it when some of the manufacturers take into account color aesthetics and highlights when designing the reel.

i won't say work of art.....  but when i look at the schematics for both spinning and casting reels i think "how in the **** did someone come up with this?"

Certain reels will get that response from me. Things such as the Ito monoblocks and some of the other rare Ito models but not too many newer reels that I can think of. There are a few though.

Absolutely. I just picked a Conquest 101HG in the fall, it's beautiful. I find myself staring at it when it's sitting on my deck and I'm using another combo. It doesn't take long for me to pick it up and throw it for a while.

The conquest  are works of art.

Easy on the eyes and smooth in the hands.
