There's smaller patches with holes of various sizes between them. The advantage to a frog that walks, other than the obvious action, is the bait is moving and getting a fish's attention without moving far. If a fish strikes in an open pocket, the odds of a hookup are much higher. And the blowups in those little open pockets are EXPLOSIVE!!! 1 Quote

I guess I view frogs a little different. I'll throw a frog into anything. The heaviest, nastiest stuff and that is pretty much only what I use them for. When I get to the end of the slop, I'll bounce it a few times and give it a little work but then I just reel back for another cast. I've tried walking them back but never had any luck so I stopped I usually have my best luck right on the outside of lilies or in the open patches. I'll let the froggy sit there for maybe 10 seconds before I resume the retrieve. That seems to tear a bass's nerves up. They just can't allow something smaller to survive in their den. And sometimes, I'll get the bite as soon as the frog hits the water before I even retrieve. Quote
Mark888 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I like the pad crashers, pretty cheap, good quality and easy to find. Quote
Mokujon Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I don't have just 1 favorite so here are the ones I throw the most. Livetarget size 65, spro bronzeye and snag proof ish's poppin fatty. I wanted to love the lunker hunt frog but it's legs tear so easily. Only threw it less than 2 days and the legs almost ripped off. Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted June 16, 2016 Super User Posted June 16, 2016 Pad Crasher for me; the price is right and hooks up easily. I like the livetarget frogs too, but I can never bring myself to pay full price for anything by livetarget. Quote
LEWITH Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 95% of the time I throw spros, but I like boo yah pad crashes and koppers as well. Quote

Super User Ratherbfishing Posted June 21, 2016 Super User Posted June 21, 2016 It's not a "frog" per se BUT in terms of the percentage of successful hookups and it's ability to glide over moss, my vote goes to the modest little Snagproof Moss Mouse. Quote
