Took another two week short call Friday that's starts on Monday. Will be working 6 10s or 7 10s depending on how work goes. Best part I get to drug test for the call!!!

I love taking power house drug tests. Down here they observe said test. Drop your pants spin a circle and then fill the cup. Fun fun fun. However, as I have discovered they are not allowed to leave the toilet room as long as the cup is in there. Nor am I allowed to leave the cup alone with them. Well, I came to the conclusion that it's the perfect time to handle all my business. You would think they would be more talkative when I try an have a friendly conversation while in there. I mean you are getting paid to stare at grown men using the restroom all day. Obviously, you enjoy your job. Otherwise you wouldn't do it. I can't help it that I ate extra hot hot wings and loaded down on chili in anticipation of coming to your establishment.

You know how to tell a good hot wing? When they smell just as good going out as they do going in.

New PB! Gagged, wretched, and he left the room in less than 15 seconds! He's only the second one to abandon me during the test. Granted he did stand outside the door and continue his observation.

I feel his pain though. I went above and beyond for this test. 18 atomic fire wings, 3 habanero peppers, and 1 ghost pepper. I'm hurting today. Now I have a two and a half hour drive to the job site after I go home and get packed.

I've been away.  What happened to the managerial job?

That ended. I hated the work. The hated the fact that I'm just a mere electrician, and not an hvac/plc programmer/pipe fitter/piping engineer/electrician. All of which was disclosed to them when I hired on. I guess they were hoping I lied to them and they were getting me for cheaper than what all that rolled into one costs. Also some crap about our "cultures" didn't mesh.

I prefer what I'm currently doing. Being an electrician. I don't need the corporate negativity that maintenance position entailed. I don't like playing cut throat and other corporate games. I like being a crass, unruly, construction electrician.

I missed the end of the corporate gig as well.  Sounds like you're where you want to be.  Always better than where you have to be.

I am absolutely loving my job again. I burned out on it for a bit, and disn't much care for it. However, it wasn't until I started doing something else, that I realized how much I love what I do.

Yep missed making things out of metal. I cant say i burnt out yet as a machinist. I do enjoy metal working and doing any thing with metal. Working two jobs right now. One I hate. The other which I like. The one I hate made me hungry to get back to metal working. I do have a second interview Monday at a shop near me. If I get this job. My current job will the third person to know if I get the job. By me giving them my two weeks.

Try working retail. I have held back my inner Raider for the last few months. If I get this new job. He might be out and about at will. In till I walk out the door on the final day of work there.

Want to know what I miss most about a machine shop. I don't have to watch my mouth, my hands being dirty, general male talk and jokes, etc. You know what I am talking about. You work a male dominated trade. Nothing better then that. I grew in that world. I will die in that world.
