So I have rebuilt dozens of boats and I have replaced flooring for several reasons but never messed with the foam.  This time the one I am rebuilding forces me to not only replace the floor but also the foam.  My only question is does anyone know a quick or easy way to get this stuff out.  I am chipping away at it with a lawn tool.  It is taking forever.  Anyone got a suggestion on a tool or a solvent that might make this go faster?

Thank you in advance.

I have only done it once and I used a jig saw and a pry bar, although it worked I don't really recommend it but just like you I didn't know any other way.

Going by your location, I going to assume you don't have a metal ice scraper used on the driveway and sidewalks.  With the floor out, I use one of those sharpened on the edge and a shovel.

Just be careful when you start putting the foam back in. You only have a few seconds working time, and It don't take much because it expands a huge amount.  It will bust the hull and/or the floor loose if it put too much and it doesn't have enough room to expand, because it's going to make room if there's not enough.

Get an angle grinder with a stiff bristle cup brush.  It's going to make your workshop look like a snow globe but it's the fastest way I've seen.

it cuts pretty quick with a metal cutting sawzall blade, I used one long one and one shorter one with duct tape around it for a handle and a pry bar to pop out areas i didnt reach with the blades
