reerok Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Up here in Ohio it's the 17 year Cicada year. They're just starting to come out. Is anybody else fishing in an area with cicadas? If so how's the fishing and what presentations are working? I'm headed to the lake for the weekend and will report back. Hopefully with lots of fish. -reerok Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted June 3, 2016 Super User Posted June 3, 2016 If I was closer to OH I'd be tempted to drive there just for the fishing. It was awesome when they hatched here. I had a largemouth in the 7-8lb range sip a cicada fly like a trout does but she didn't get the hook somehow. I did a lot of fly fishing for carp. The fish would be as close to whatever side of the pond had woods near it, I fished a pond that only has a small bank with trees on it but it seemed like every single fish was there. People who bass fished used small Pop-Rs and said they caught everything just fishing the banks. Bass, crappie, catfish, carp, even stripers were eating the cicadas! Have fun! Quote
