I think the hula grub is very versatile... But you said on a Texas rig.. they both are good.. if I could only have one I'd take the hula grub. Its killer fished weightless t rigged.. in ponds , rivers or lakes.. glad I don't have to choose though

They both are killer. I've caught a staggering amount of bass on both, usually texas rigged with a pegged weight of 1/8 or 3/16 ounce.
