So I'm getting  ready to pull the trigger on a 95 Champion 190 dcx. The boat is in nearly brand new condition with a low hours 150 Fast Strike. Does $6500 sound like a good price?

Champion is a really good hull

"Nearly brand new condition 150 Fast Strike".

The rig is 21 years old!

Was the boat garage kept?

What's " nearly brand new" about a 21 year old motor!

A 19' dual console boat with a 150 might be a tad bit under powered

According to iboat specs the hull is 1400 lbs

Yeah from what I've read its a little under powered, but that's okay with me. And by nearly brand new condition, I mean it has less than 100 hours on both the hull and outboard; and yes, it has been garage kept. Just wasn't sure if I was getting a decent deal or not. Below are some pics:

Id have it inspected by a reputable dealer looking for hull cracks (inside and out) and have them check out the motor as well,...it's money well spent,... also find out what size motor its rated for, as if your looking for a future re-power,...like Catt said champions are a great hull, and they truly are,.. ive been on a few and, depending on a seasoned boater, they ride smooth and fast. If all checks out good and you pull the trigger, since its been sitting, plan on swapping out the trailers wheel bearings, if its been sitting for 20 years they can divot a spot where all the weight was on one spot that long, this is short money as opposed to getting it towed home, only to have to replace a whole hub assembly.... and make sure the tires dont have dry rot anywhere, usually on the inside of the tires under the boat,...20 years is a long time to sit,.. find out what it books via kelly blue book 

 she looks like a nice rig, clean, and its a champ

It might look clean but if it's sat as long as it did you don't know how it was cared for aside from being garage kept. How old is the fuel? Are the fuel lines the upgraded ethanol resistant variant if not what condition are the current ones in and was the boat fuel ever treated?  Do all the electronics in the boat work and is there any bad wiring? Boat looks great and that motor looks spotless but there's a few things internally that need to be checked out. 150% you need to take the outboard to a reputable Johnson/Evinrude dealer even if you have to pay 1-200$ to have compression, leak down test, power pack, rectifier/regulator, tachometer reading correctly, low and WOT RPM's set correctly on the timing wheel(verify on tachometer-RPMs will be higher on muffs, check in water if possible), all carbs opening in sync, lower unit gear condition, prop shaft condition,  etc. don't just run an outboard on muffs. Make sure you check it with back pressure in the water.  WOT should I think 5k-5500 RPMS I believe. HArd to say top end speed w/o knowing prop. If everything physically checks out to what it visually appears to be, You're stealing that boat for 6500. Good find. Good luck to you.

Agree with having it checked out. If that motor checks out good, fuel lines aren't wrecked, no stress cracks or hull damage, I'd almost feel bad for getting that boat for 6,500.

I also agree with having it checked out. I would be very cautious as that is a long time to sit. If all checks out good though seems like a heck of a nice boat.
