brantley5 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 So this weekend I made a dumb decision and decided to leave my rods and reels on the deck of my uncles boat overnight. I came back the next morning to find that my week old Shimano Casitas was stolen. I only had it for a week but it seemed like a pretty solid reel. I know some of you might consider it a "budget reel" but being only 14, $120 isn't cheap by any means. Well, to get to my question, I was wondering if I should just buy another casitas or maybe try out a another company. Any recommendations on reels in the $100-$150 range or advice would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Yudo1 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Sorry to hear that. Thieves are just dirt bags. Did they steal anything else? You could get a critical I or curado I if you are a fan of Shimano. They both are a considerable upgrade over the Casitas. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted May 31, 2016 Super User Posted May 31, 2016 Yeah. Thieves are scum bags. Hard lesson to learn, but the hard way is about the only way I ever learn. If it doesn't have to be Shimano, I'd look at the original Tatula for approximately $95 on ebay. Quote

It seems that would be a safe purchase considering on how many people like them. 4 hours ago, new2BC4bass said: Yeah. Thieves are scum bags. I was checking out the Tatula. If I get another Daiwa it would be the that reel, the Tatula CT or maybe the Fuego. Quote
Yudo1 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 The fuego is on sale at American legacy for $78 (retails $130). Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted May 31, 2016 Super User Posted May 31, 2016 Lews Speed Spool LFS is also a pretty good reel for $100. I have one and love it. Quote
