I was carrying my S&W MP Shield comfortably in my jacket pocket or IWB with jeans for a while................until it got hot and I have gone to shorts and t-shirts as my everyday work attire. I really don't feel like wearing heavy cargo shorts with a gun belt for IWB carry all summer, and I am not interested in a getting a small 380 or anything like that for summer time pocket carry, so what other options have worked comfortably for everyone else for carrying a shield, or similar sized gun in the summer when clothing is light?

NY doesn't have it but open carry here in MI solves that whole deal.

Yes it would. High explosives double hockey sticks will freeze over before NY ever has open carry. As it is, only a select few are deemed worthy to be "allowed" to CC.

Yup ~ I was in Walmart yesterday and counted 7 fine Americans who chose to openly exercise their right to bear arms - I'm a Huge Fan

T minus 11 years and counting before I head for "Free America"..........wife will not uproot the kids until they are done with school.............and I won't leave without them (the kids that is.........the wife is optional LOL) Hopefully the rest of the USA won't be lost by the time that comes.

I'll miss my little mud puddle AKA Silver Lake.............but that's about it.

I'm a big fan of carrying my Ruger LCP in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster.  Its the best combination I've found for carrying in cargo shorts.

I suck it up and carry IWB with a Glock 27.  Dressing for it definitely isn't the most comfortable in the summer but I haven't found a better method.  I'm also indoors most of the time.

I carried my shield in a single clip kydex holster here in Miami.

I now pocket carry a lcp custom in a DeSantis nemesis. Never leave home without it.

I carry a CZ-75 Compact inside the waistband, and I plan on getting the new P-01 Ω as soon as its available.

I can't do polymer.

Eh. I wouldn't feel too comfortable with that clip. And that trigger guard cover...

A simple single clip kydex holster would work for a small semi. I had one of these for my shield and am thinking about getting one for the lcp to free up a pocket.

Not the quality of the $60+ pieces of kydex but it doesn't have their price either. Good retention and clips with smoothed edges. Lifetime warranty too. And it may be worth checking out before dropping cash on an expensive holster.

I was so recommended these on another forum..

The backing looks super comfortable and breathable. I plan on getting one for my 9c when I will be carrying a full day.

Just my experience, but that clip is the single most comfortable thing I have carried a gun with.  No bulk, no weight and is screwed into place on the pistol.   Much like carrying a large knife.  I didn't look at the link photo hard until you said something about the trigger guard cover, but I don't have one and wouldn't use one.  Just the clip for me.  Fits in my waistband,  can tuck in a shirt with it, can carry in a pocket if I desire and not one complaint I can think of.  Just my 2 cents.

Some of that 'On Your Six' stuff looks pretty good.

I have carried in a Comp-Tac kydex holster for years.  It's a model they don't make anymore but it closely resembles the "Two O'Clock Holster."  Kydex is the only way to go in the summertime.

Found a link.

Imo, It just doesn't look like it'll give you a solid grip when you go to unholster/unpant. And I'd think it would move around a lot.

Not to mention if something got in that trigger guard... I like mine to be covered unless I want my finger in there.

I know people have used those clips on keltecs for a long while without issue. It's just not for me.

I normally carry a kahr cw9 in a remora micro holster (the one with the clip) I like a smaller holster during the summer. If the clothes I'm wearing print easily I switch to a Kahr cw380. You don't really need a thick gun belt to carry a subcompact like the shield. I use a hanks amish belt and it works fine for the kahr. If you carry with the extended magazine I would switch to the flush fitting one so it conceals better with a thin shirt

ww2farmer said he wasn't interested in a 380, but I just picked up a Beretta Pico 380 just to see how well and easily you could conceal it.  It easily fits in the side pocket of my cargo shorts. Man is this thing tiny, it is the new updated model.  It shoots extremely well and is extremely accurate.  It is so tiny compared to my every day carry Sig P320 9mm in compact. Which I still carry everyday and I am in shorts and a t-shirt pretty much 24/7.  I have a Alien Gear IWB Cloak Tuck 3.0 and a Alien Gear carry belt.  Extremely comfortable holster.

I've been looking at those holsters to buy for my P99 and I think you just answered my question.

My regular carry is a 19, but for summertime carry (T-shirt and shorts) I go with a 43. Depending on my activity level for the day it's in either a belly band worn in any number of positions, or an IWB Kydex.   I was surprised how well it hides under a T-shirt without printing.

Mine is a P64, 9X18. I like it better than the .380s that I have seen. I can use that ammo in my Bulgarian Makarov, which is convenient. I just toss it in my pocket-I wear a suit everyday.

I put one of these on my Ruger LCP and it is perfect for the summer.  Will need to clean and wipe down the gun more frequently, but it is the one "holster" option that allows me to lessen some of the bulk for concealing.

To each his own but IMHO a gun in the waistband without a triggergaurd is dangerous.
