Tas1498 Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Anybody got any tips for the Winter Haven Chain I went out there for the first time this past weekend and it was ruff? I mainly worked the shoreline in Eloise and Winterset. Quote
ThePolkFolk Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Are you on a boat or off the bank? On Winterset I've had luck with finesse presentations since the water is so clear, just have to get through the grass. I also like using bluegill/perch looking lures in Winterset since there are so many perch/sunfish in the lake. Other lakes in the chain I have had luck throwing jigs w/ zoom chunks, chatterbaits, t-rigs along the grasslines/weeds. The Chain can be rough but when they do hit it is worth it. Goodluck! Quote
Tas1498 Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 Fishing out of a boat I caught one in Winterset and 2 in Lulu spent all day out there. Spent the most time in Eloise but no luck in there. Mainly fished the shorelines. Quote
ThePolkFolk Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I'll take a look at my maps when I get home and let you know if I have any hotspots marked for Eloise or Lulu. A lot of it is hitting the drop-offs/holes offshore, but the shorelines can produce as well. Quote
ThePolkFolk Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 South side of Eloise has some good holes around the edge of the lake. If you have a depth finder I would go scout those holes out. The East side of Lulu has a lot of depth variation as well. Quote
