Not sure if this is the right forum but thought people needed to see the fish picture here -

I wouldn't touch that fish with my hands!  BR won't let me post the link to the original story but there's an infection going around the fish at Barrett Lake in SoCal, likely due to overcrowding and low water levels (5%) where they say there's enough fish in there right now for 600x more water.

Looks pretty wicked.

I'd say people need to start taking some to the dinner table to thin out the herd. But I don't think I'd eat those!

I thought this thread was going to be bringing bass back from the dead, which you can do and it's crazy! They are literally zombies!

My first big ol bass was missing an eye and most of its fins and had bleeding sores on it. It was a major disappointment. But somehow still feeding.

This looks like nature taking care of the problem.

Freaked me the hell out.  I've seen something similar here in New Jersey. Last weekend I've seen a few Blue gill, and  a bass with some kind of growth on their side near the gill plate with that same coloration, and they seem to be lethargic. This was in 2 different bodies of water. We did have some low water levels last year, but are back up to par this year.

Looks like some kind of Cheerios marketing idea that went horribly wrong.

Mercy kill.

Yup. Would have put the fish out of its misery and gladly paid any cite from the game warden.
