Jeff P. Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 I have a co-worker with a '94 Bass Tracker 17 foot w/ 40 HP that he is wanting to sell, and I think this would be a good first boat. The question I have is about the size of the boat. I'm a fairly good sized fellow (6-2 225), will I have any issues with stability or control when I'm fishing? Thanks. Quote
fishinfool Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 hey jeff, i'm 6'4" 230 and i have no trouble in my 16' jon boat, i don't think you'll have any more trouble in that boat than you would in any other boat of that size. hey i havn't fallen in yet so thats good news. its only wobbly when my buddy is in the back dancin around tryin to throw me off so i won't catch all the fish. Shad_Master Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 I have an '88 Tournament V 18' Tracker that I just bought from a guy who weighs 350# easy and has fished it pretty hard over the years. Unfortunately he fell in a 20' Triton a couple of years back and has had to cut down considerably on his fishing. For my $ Tracker's are a very stable boat and you should have no problems. Quote
JTL Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 That size boat will be fine... I'm 6'2" and 240lbs, a good fishing buddy of mine is 6'1" and 230lbs; I had a 17' Spectrum aluminum bass boat which is like the Tracker and me & him fished out of that boat constantly with no problems. We even used it alot on the Ohio River with no problems. They are great boats and you will have loads of fun with it... Quote
