I had grown tired of looking at the numerous wires for my locators and wanted a more professional looking install. I ended up picking up a cheap rod sock at Walmart for somewhere in the neighborhood of $3. For the price of that and a few zip ties, I had what I wanted and I think it turned out pretty well. Hopefully this helps someone out looking to do something similar.locator wiring.jpg

Nice work.

I buy that material on Amazon and make my own rod sleeves...and the left-over pieces get used for projects like that.

What size do you buy? I ordered some a long time ago thinking I had picked a good size only to find out it was way smaller than I thought.

Depends what kind of rod - I think I used the 1 1/4" for spinning rods, 3/4" for casting rods.

I bought one roll of red in 1/2" it was border line to skinny.
