Costa and Smiths on sale at steepandcheap for $60-90 (they are a clearance site for Backcountry, with same customer service reps).   Ordered 10 pairs and can return ones I don't like with flat rate $6.99 UPS label.  put order in on phone and the guy even waved the return label fee.  They charge sales tax in some states but not others so check if you live near a border and have option to ship elsewhere.  PA charges tax but NJ doesn't.

I bought two pairs of 400G Hamlins in blue mirror and another in green mirror. they work great. i likee 400g because it is the clearest for the weight. get two for less than one regular priced

I went to Field and Stream today to pick up some hooks, a couple spinnerbaits, and some craws.  Turns out the stores (not online/not advertised) are closing out reels that have newer versions coming out AND they are having their "percent off" sale (with the little colored stickers).  I started looking around and found this Revo SX (3rd gen).  It's even a lefty in 7:1 which I have been looking for.  They had it marked down from $149 to $109 plus it had a 30% off sticker.  When I asked the associate for one he discovered that the only one they had left was the display model and he couldn't find the box so he dropped the price even more.  Final cost....$60 bucks.  And it even looks good on my Powell Inferno flipping rod.

I'm not sure if all the Field and Stream stores are closing out reels but if you have one nearby it is certainly worth checking on.

Lucky duck.  I'm gonna give them a call and see if they'll accept an exchange.  Worth a shot, I guess.

I was interested until I saw their warranties.  they are embarrassing compared to standard lifetime over $150.

Clacker that's how I feel. If I'm spending 400$ ND only have a year on each kinda disappointing.

The Heliums hold a 3-year warranty.  Honestly, the warranty isn't the best and normally I wouldn't even give them a second look because of it.  But their rods are the real deal.  I have 100% confidence that they're not going to break under normal circumstances.  My older heliums, mag, and klx have caught more fish than any other rod I own over the last 5 years.  They're still just as strong and just as crisp as day 1.

I went to their site and the lowest price on the 130's is $12.88 and Terminator was no longer showing. Some of the 90's are $9.88 but again extremely limited selection.

You guys are a bad influence on me. I ordered more from lurenet. Now I see deals at mister twister and mepps.

the mepps timber doodle is the bait for weeds. It out fished a guy next to me with livebait, we were neck and neck till the timber doodle pulled ahead and never looked back. The silver blade with the white trailer.

please check our Sponcers first. They support us too. I'd rather pay a tad more and support this sight. It's a win/win for all of us, they need to eat too.

I've seen Walmart put stuff on clearance one month then six weeks later put the same stuff on the shelf at full price. Is there a experation date on crankbaits? Watch Walmart for clearances after Christmas till spring.

I bought one of those because I thought the name was funny and while I love the action, I have never even gotten a hit on it.  The hook was also really dull and even after some time with a file I was not confident it was very sharp.  I love the idea of weedless spoons though, I should give it another try.
