Walmart: $1 Rattlin’ Rage Craws in green pumpkin and summer craw in my local Walmart. Wasn’t marked on end cap display but scanned in app and jackpot!  Weird black/blue and junebug were not on clearance. I guess if you know your local Walmart and something seems to not supposed to be on shelf, scan it!

Also had $2.50 black/blue 5” senkos marked on shelf

I just figured out that this is your profile photo.  The bait gorilla.  I failed to make that connection for years until now!

@gimruis,

@NorthernBasser’s profile pic is more than likely Bait Gigantopithecus.

From Guinness World Records:

The largest primate of all time was Gigantopithecus blacki, an enormous extinct cousin of the modern-day south-east Asian orangutan (Pongo spp.), which lived in southern China and the Indochinese Peninsula between 2.15 million and 300,000 years ago; reasons for its eventual extinction remain unclear. Estimates derived from its fossilized 2.5-cm-wide (1-in) cheek teeth and huge jawbones suggest that Gigantopithecus stood up to 3.7 m (12 ft) tall when propped on its hind legs, and weighed up to 280–300 kg (617–661 lb), though more conservative estimates favor a standing height of 2.5–3 m (8 ft 2 in–9 ft 10 in) and mass of 200–300 kg (440–661 lb).

I chose this profile pic before I knew about the BRBM (Bass Resource Bait Monkey) and this thread. Maybe it was a sign.

Well, maybe.  A mongo pickerel bit off one those SPROs the other night which made me very sad. NOoooo! I'm weirdly sentimental about certain long-lived baits, especially when they've caught 'em good for me. I was made happy again to find them nicely discounted so close to such a trauma. I comforted myself by buying 3 more to replace the lost one and a bunch of other junk I decided I needed. It's way healthier than stuffing my piehole with Krispy Kremes and crying myself to sleep.😁

LMAO - Krispy Kremes. My "culinary" kryptonite. Didn’t realize they were available so far north.

I ran across a YT video the other day with many Darwin Award winner types in it the other day. One featured some of your Red Army getting their due justice of sorts. Will try to find it.

You iced out yet? We should be opened up. Might have to make a recon trip this week to check water conditions. Will definitely be fishing in the next week. Jigs will be the main course, followed by scrumptious helpings of spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, lipless cranks, & FAT Swing Impacts. Hoping the fat girls are ready to chew!

Yup. Rained alot last week which knocked it off. The next 4 overnights will be in the 20s, so I expect things to be slow for a minute. Soon.

You Minnesota boys are like Maine girls, with nothing to do all winter but be abused by the Bait Monkey.

I'm probably the only one on this forum that goes to Omnia in person.  They are about 6 miles from my house.  I also know the marketing lead from a previous job and I've seen Seth Feider in there more than once too.

I'm primarily an in-person shopper, especially when it comes to items like rods, reels, footwear, and clothing.  The great part about Omnia is that they have a small retail area for this sort of stuff for people like me.  Its primarily an online warehouse order business, but they've incorporated in-person retail for anything they sell as well.  Its a very unique business.

Not as unique as you might think...the online (phone) ordering as well as a small browsing area with a pickup desk where you can order in person is a business model that many parts suppliers have - and not just auto dealer parts desk.

Grainger

Coremark Metals

Fastenal

All use that business model.

Never knew that.  I've also never purchased anything from those places either, so perhaps that's why.

When I said unique business model, I should have clarified that I was specifically referring to a tackle retailer/business.  There seems to just be two types: in person or online.  Omnia has both.

@gimruis thank you for the info. on Omnia, I am about 125 miles north/west of Golden Valley yet I travel in to the Twin Cities at least a few times a month so I may check out Omnia when I venture in next time -- I do have a "local" tackle shop about 25 minutes north of me, they have a large "live bait" selection (I have never used that) , they make/pour many of their own plastics, they have a reasonable selection of hard/soft lures/terminal tackle (heavliy slanted towards walleye/muskie) and have been very patient with my many questions as a newbie fisherman -- so I do try and purchase some items from them (althought their prices tend to be a bit higher than online prices)

@ol'crickety are you a Kittery Trading Post or LL Bean or online purchaser ?

@WaskaCrank12: Kittery? You must vacation in Maine. I've been there and bought there and I've bought many things from L.L. Bean too, but most of my fishing gear comes through the Internet.

Not uncommon at all here in MN.   The walleye is the king here and my guess is that he majority of anglers walking into that shop are chasing them.

@ol'crickety  I grew up in the Boston area (now live in MN) and family friends had a cabin/property on the Damarisotta River - so we travelled up there several times every summer for many years -  stops at LL Bean, Kittery Trading Post and if I remember correctly  Dunham Boots store/outlet were part of those trips

@gimruis I cannot see or hear Feider’s name without being reminded of this happening. FFWD to 3:00 mark:

Just note that Feider got his revenge on Zona last season but unfortunately I couldn’t find any images or video of Zona showing off Feider’s skill at haircuts. 🤣

Especially in the northern part of the state.  The bass up there are not smart.

Zona + Feider = TROUBLE.   Those two would be a blast to hang out with.

Agreed, as long as the scissors & hair clippers aren’t anywhere near them! 🤣

@gimruis I found the revenge haircut. During the show, Zona was telling the backstory from the video above saying something to the effect of, "on this trip Seth decided it was his turn," and removed his hat to reveal the Feider Special:
