New website is still sketchy - was browsing by bait type & found some brands were missing from the results. Now they have a nag popping up on the right side of the screen for the mailing list sale - can’t dismiss it either. Dummies in charge of the "improved" website now, apparently. 😒

I placed an order with TW this past Friday. There was a lure I wanted and there was only one in stock. I added a few more things to get to $50.00 for free shipping.

 

After I placed the order it dawned on me that had I waited until Monday I would have got in on the sale.

 

When I received the e-mail invoice it showed that they gave me the discounted sale prices on everything and my order will be here on Tuesday. 

 

There's nothing to complain about with that order!!!!!

The email announcing the sale was in my mailbox at 9 AM this morning.

Most were mentioned above. I almost used them exclusively and now they are second or third choice based on price and speed of shipment alone.

 

It can be stated differently maybe. Maybe is they have grown comfortable with a loyal buyer base and don't feel they have to "earn" your business where most of the companies listed early go out of their way to ACTUALLY ship same day and have improved their sites and stock. 

Agreed.  I noticed their prices are slightly higher on SOME items.  I just put in an order on some items that the prices were "normal" compared to other stores.

 

I basically don't stick to one shop - find the best deals to save you money!

I signed up over the weekend but I think I mistakenly signed up for the newsletter which may be different from the mailing list, I did receive a welcome to the newsletter email but nothing for the sale. Can anyone confirm this?

@Bass Rutten The link to sign up is one & the same (mailing list/newsletter). I also signed up prior to deadline, received zero emails. Earlier today, I started a chat support session & the associate sent me a link which activated the sale in my cart.

I tried emailing them but the never responded. But chat works fast. Get them on chat and they will fix it for you. Just ordered stuff with the discount

Has anyone tried to purchase any Daiwa rods in this current 20% sale?? Discount isn't showing in cart for the rod so I can only assume its excluded. 

I'm curious if it is their MAP pricing thing that won't allow them to discount certain things and then they take the % off after the sale is complete...?

I clicked through my discount link and put a Tatula casting rod in the cart...no discount.  I put a Duckett casting rod in the cart...20% off.  I think that confirms they are excluded.  Not unusual, in my experience, for Daiwa to be excluded from most "storewide" sales, but those same stores will have a Daiwa-only sale at some point also.  They're just special I guess.

Check the final receipt. I think some companies (such as Daiwa) do not allow retailers to give 'official' discounts. But in my experience TW has honored the discounts on Daiwa (and others) in the past. 

They might have changed though.  They changed their website, which was not for the best either, imo.


Me as somebody that works in tech and has designed and build some web applications in the past, I have to say that their new website design makes the search and buying experience soo much worse. Wish they had a way to return to the old website design... 😕

I've bought a Daiwa rod and reel from TW at 20% off. The reel was just a few weeks ago and was clearance priced in addition to the 20%. The rod was last year. So it's not like they never discount Daiwa.

 

Edit: And in both cases it showed the discount in the cart, but it appears that is not the case in this sale. In another thread they are saying the discount only shows up in the confirmation email.

I just bought a rod and the discount showed up in the cart.

 

The stuff I bought last week showed up at regular price in the cart but the email showed the discount. BTW last week's purchase was before the sale but they still gave me a discount.    😊

TW won't show the discount for big brands like Daiwa, Shimano, Megabass in the cart, only in the email confirmation after the checkout is completed. Give it a shot, if your email doesn't show the 20% off, call or chat with them to cancel the order.

Use paypal, you can see the discount on paypal's screen and cancel if required.

Everything is 20% off except Minn Kota and Humminbird.
