My Walmart has the Abu Vengeance combo with bonus cranks on clearance for $40. Is this the same as the regular Vengeance?  Picked one up anyways. Always thought they were a good deal with a reel for $70 when the rod is worth that alone. They were 7’ med heavy

They also had spinning ones for $40. Not sure what the action/power was.  Can’t find on brickseek.

Apart from TW, what other vendors offer sales multiple times a year when you can grab just about anything on the site (Shimano, Loomis, Megabass, etc.) at a 15-20% discount? I still buy from TW (just did today, in fact) but I've taken to getting my "staples" elsewhere and mostly shopping big-ticket items at TW. Curious who else I need to be checking out. Feel free to PM me, of course.

??‍♂️ TW has the best selection, that’s it.

This has nothing to do with Labor Day but 20% off at Omnia with code Serious20

(Works for Daiwa, not Shimano)

No it doesn’t work for shimano . Daiwa yes.

That I'll dispute...Rapala and Zoom selection at TW sucks compared to other places...one's I can't name because they got on Glenn's naughty list.

I guess I should’ve said broadest, by that I mean they seem to have the most stuff from the most brands. Some other places may have more zoom or rapala specifically, but they have nothing from beast coast or dirty jigs (just examples). I’m not a fan of TW, the whole “your package has shipped” but tracking shows it doesn’t leave the warehouse for 4 more days really rubs me the wrong way.

but this isn’t the place to discuss TW’s failures

Does buying JDM count as a sale? It should, I’m saying it counts. Amazon Japan has Daiwa Zillion SV TW for $212. Tatula TW80 is $115 and Alphas SV TW 800 is $175 on Japan Lure Shop. I’ve never been more disappointed there’s no money in the budget for a reel or two.

The only thing keeping me from buying a reel like that is the fact that I have absolutely no need for it ?. I was browsing reviews last night on the zillion and was really impressed. Now I understand why @king fisher has been saying that the bait monkey has been bothering him about the zillion for a while.

I agree.  That is for another thread.  I'm with you by the way on this failure.  Carry on with the latest sales!

For some reason I thought they weren’t on the naughty list. At least, feels like I’ve seen them mentioned many times on the forum.

They've got a 15% off Daiwa sale going on too, code is DAIWA.

15% off used gear, or 25% off if buying 2 or more used items as well.

Do all JDM Daiwa reels come with 80-85mm handles? I read somewhere that's the case. I like the 90mm of the US versions.

It depends on the reel AFAIK. But JDM prices are so low that even if you had to buy a 90mm handle you’d still be saving a bunch of money.

Digitaka or Asian Portal - both are out of Japan, so overseas shipping time.

Digitaka's my favorite. As was mentioned shipping is very fast, usually quicker than stateside. BTW welcome aboard.

@Sy_A also Japan Lure Shop and Amazon.co.jp

just gotta check around to see who has the best price. But beware using PayPal, @Cbump got charged more than the website showed because PayPal used their own exchange rates.
