To everyone who can't find the Trokar hooks in stock at Dicks (2 packs for $5.99), the same deal is online at their website, and they have more options.  I bought more this morning there, and they had free shipping on order $25+, and had almost every style and size in stock including weighted swimbait hooks

Thanks for the heads up and also curse you because now I'm going to spend more money.

This sale has been my downfall.  I went from owning 0 Trokar hooks, to now I'm the proud owner of 62 packs of them.  I'm good for a while now :)

I showed some restraint and only got 13 packs, though I did wipe them out of their size 2 dropshot hooks.

Just have to be careful, the "promotional" zoom fluke bags at $1.18 near me have fewer per pack (as labeled) vs a standard fluke pack.  Still a better unit price than most regular fluke packs, plus they have some good colors that aren't as common in big box stores.  Recently marked down to 0.75 at one of the stores I went into, but not all.

As others have stated, I noticed the variety of items on clearance varied from store to store (one had KVD squarebills, others did not), and the timing at which they implemented successive markdowns also varies.  One store I went into had already sold everything off and re-set they new stock, another had only a few rods left, and others were apparently just putting the clearance stuff out.  The pricing was the same even in different states though, unless they were in "deep clearance" mode where it appears the stores have discretion to price as low as they want to.

Yeah, you have to careful with a lot of the things you buy at walmart, make sure you give them a good lookover, as someone I know use to take one senko from each bag they had and put it into a YUM Dinger bag, with the Dingers. Checkout just looked at it, said "Eh," and sold it to him.  Always count the amount you have per bag.

For the Trokar hooks, it looks like DSG might be trickling in inventory or people are returning/cancelling orders - just scored 3 packs of size 1 dropshot hooks and 3 packs of size 9/0 weighted swimbait hooks, neither of which were there yesterday.

Academy is having a sale on Berkley mono.  Trilene XL, XT and Big Game are $3.49 a spool.

Also a sale on SK crankbaits.  KVD 1.5 and 3XD are $3.99.  Bags of powerbait are $2.99.

Same experience out here in Georgia.  They put a new load out on Tuesday after having slim pickin's on Sunday.  I also scored some of the swimbait hooks.  Never seen those before.

BTW I know they grow 'em big in CA and the objective is to overtake GA for the new world record, but 9/0's???  Sounds optimistic!  ;)

Just another piece of tackle to add to my hoard that I'll probably never use!  If anything maybe I'll use it on one of the new 7.8" FAT Swing Impacts and chuck it in the ocean next time I'm in SoCal.

North Fork Composites (Gary Loomis) has 50% off blanks plus 50% off shipping... If you build rods or know a guy who does now's a good chance to get a high dollar blank

Took advantage of this info as well. Got 3 spools of big game, 2 kvd 1.5s, and some other stuff to get me free shipping.

Thanks

American Legacy is selling all their IMX rods at 25% off.  Just picked up a CR721 that I have been eyeing for awhile.   I hope they keep offering them when they update the IMX line.  Otherwise I might have to buy a CR722 soon just to complete my set.

It's a hard road being a short rod fan.

Not to hyjack the thread.....but where are you getting the info about the bigger Keitechs? as in the 6.8 and 7.8? Google searches are not bringing anything concrete up. i found links to a pros facebook page about getting to try them out (last December i believe). Im looking to buy some of the 5.8 but id prefer the 6.8 if they were available

Ive tried telling people for the last 2 weeks not to bother getting excited for the TW Classic sale. It's always been just a clearance sale on baits and equipment that don't sell well. I saw a lot of people saying they were going to save their income tax money for this Classic Sale, and I continuously suggested either shopping elsewhere, or saving their money for the TW tax stimulus sale, which at least offers 10% off 97% of their products, as opposed to a discount on baits that don't sell well.

The SV103 is $202 right now for the classic sale. That's a pretty dang good deal.

Better than the SS SV for $150?  Both these reels have my attention.

SS SV is a smaller/finesse type reel, SV103 is an all around work horse type reel.

Gotchya.  That's what I got from the description.  You have any idea what the exact drag pressure is on that sucker?

No doubt there are deals to be had, but people think it is similar to their other sales where most items are 10-15% off. My only point has been that you are only able to select from the specific lures they mark down and it's very rarely the most popular, most used products.
