why do so many people wear bibs, I mean maybe its because im in SOCAL but i usually just wear sweatpants and a hoodie r something. do they keep you really warm in the winter?

You would freeze fishing in the kind of early and late season air temps and north wind we have here.

Btw, cotton is just about useless in true cold, especially as a base layer.

Same here - I've even fought ice-flows on opening day which is the middle of May here.

Wool, where-ever you can. Insulates even when wet.

Quick question,

How are you supposed to Wash bibs and rain jackets?

Cold water and no soap?  Drip dry?

Wash them? What do you mean? Why? That slime all over my gear was hard earned!

I always follow the instructions included with (or on) the garment.

Also these products come in pretty handy.

One of the items in my wishlist is FT's entry level Ultra-Lite2 rainsuit (pants and jacket) - as a budget conscious person (read not much money to spend), it it worth it?

I bought these yesterday $14.97

Ya - but the Large (which I take) is $22.49...still looking around at other options, don't need them until spring.

Question: Why are different sizes different prices...especially the larger sizes are at lower cost?

If you have a cash back account with Rakuten,  today it has 20% cash back on Academy,  and Academy itself is also having a site-wide 20% off Cyber Monday sale.  Thus, it'll totally be 36% off site wide.   Shimano is excluded, but Daiwa, Abu, Lew's... and Megabass are all included. There are some nice selections left, like Tatula SV, Dobyns Fury, some Oneten, Oneten+1, ...etc.

If you’re new to Rakuten, you get 15% cash back on Academy, plus if you spend over $25 you get $15 cash back. So including the 20% off at Academy you could pick up a Daiwa Fuego for just over $50

You mean you’re supposed to wash rain gear?  I thought that’s what the rain is for. Sheesh.

Thanks for this! I had never heard of Rakuten. It was easy to sign up for. It already shows the money in my account from my academy order.

If anyone else wants to try it,  pm me for a link and you can get $40 back from your first order.

They get $40 back or you do? I didn’t think with the referrals that both people get it.

I just tried it with my wife so far. She ordered some stuff from academy, and we each got a $40 credit in our accounts.

Might be a reason for the price slash? I've never heard of Shimano or Daiwa having a sale on a new flagship reel. Peace and love. Just thought I'd share.

 - Fast forward to 2:30 - Braid wrapped in rotor, but wind was howling. This happens twice in the video that a recall. This video was launched pretty close to the Zenon debut, but they never mention the reel once in the video. Talks about all sponsored tackled, but never mentioned Abu rod and reel. Who knows.....but it's interesting that Abu is not mentioned.

Did you order one?  I am sure if you did it isn't here yet but I held one at a local Cabela's and it was nice.  Let me know your thoughts when it arrives.  Looks like it's the JDM 3000SH (US 30) at The Hook Up.  What's the difference between the JDM 3000SH and 3000MSH?  Thanks!

Does anyone know if this reel has brass gears? I can't find any info on the BPS site in regards to gears.
