So do you need a link to see it?

Ya - link is in an e-mail if you're on their mailing list. Applies the 20% discount into your cart. No e-mail, no discount.

I got nervous, threw both of my wish lists into the cart and sent it.

Guess we will see what I bought when it shows up!

If you're on TW's e-mail list - you should have gotten a message about the Black Friday sale going on until 11/30.

Have to be on the mailing list - discount is a click-through in the e-mail.

Got my order in!!!

Does anyone know if they’ll apply the discount even if it doesn’t show up in the cart? Like for Daiwa, Shimano etc

Heads up since it'll probably be asked. Certain brands won't reflect the 20% off when you add it to your cart. Once you place your order it'll reflect on your confirmation email.

ETA- Yup. I added a Curado 150 MGL and that's exactly what happened.

I'm sure you already know this, but everyone will have access to the 20% off in a few days, even if they aren't on the mail list.

Just a little bummed having spent a decent chunk of my fishing budget, roughly 80%, the last 7 years with them that you had to be signed up to the email list to get in on it early.

That said does anyone know about St. Croix and does it show up before you check out? If it shows up later I know of another place to order from. I am on a tight, 400 and change budget to allow a Barlows order for spinner bait blades.

FYI

Do not ever go back and add up how much you spent at TW over the years. I just did that and I am glad the wife was not in the room. Considering I only bought a few rods and tackle from them the number was eye popping to me. This isn't a cheap hobby!

I added a Victory just to see. The 20% doesn't reflect in the cart. But once you place your order it will likely be applied.

Worst case the store over the border in MN will likely do a discount again. That is where I got my Premier musky rod last year.

If given a choice and price is the same, I'll order from Omnia. They don't charge taxes like TW does. However, their last 20% off sale didn't include rods/reels. Unless theirs doesn't show until you check out like TW.

Which one?

SW

Joe's

Thorne Bros

Capra's

Omnia

Scheels

Fleet Farm (ya, they carry St Croix rods)

So many to choose from.

Yes, and that applies to other sites as well. Things add up quicker than we thought, much quicker.

That being said, I just blew pretty much all my holiday tackle budget on a $200 Expride rod, so I wouldn't call $400 a tight budget.

I am getting 2 rods and some spinnerbaits, 400 goes fast. I get a certain amount to spend each year and that is my remaining total. Regardless of the budget I have I find ways to fill it to the max and then have to trim a lot. I wasn’t bragging or complaining, just my reality this year, so sorry if it seemed that way.

I haven't been there in years...might have to make an 'expedition' as it's the other side of the metro from me.

One of my purchases is done - used Patriarch. Then I got a $200 budget for anything else...so I feel your pain.

It’s not April 1st is it;)? I will say the link Glen had up for a while did at least show some baits with the extra 10 percent off just not the standard 20 percent.

What happened to the reels? Did you ever use in saltwater? Thanks.

Mine were all freshwater use.  My father saltwater.  The mechanical components became loose.  The bail arm went out on two of them. The magnesium coating would almost “bubble” up in areas.

It could be the case they are sending them out in batches to limit the traffic to the site and make it easier to efficiently get orders shipped out?

I haven't either - and I've ordered plenty this past year from TW. Anyone know if Humminbird units will be included in their sale?

Dunno - I did a quick check and it didn't show the discount in the cart where-as everything else I had in there did. Might be at checkout - who knows.

Interesting process they have at TW. I had ordered an H'bird last week that says won't be in stock until Dec 4. Would be interesting to know in the meantime if it goes on sale if that will be reflected in the final price I'm charged.
