Man, that sale seems to cover a ton of stuff.  Currently have a tab open with a CR721 (for $191.25!) sitting in my cart.  It's low end is a little heavy for all the finesse stuff I want to do, but it is going to be a struggle to go to bed without hitting "Checkout".

Don't Wait Man ~ Pull the Trigger.

Otherwise, it's gonna end up in a tube heading to someone else.

Then you'll be very hurt.

Found a 7' MHF Halo Starlite casting rod at walmart with a broken tip maybe 1/2 inch down.It was 50$ retail,so i asked the manager to come down on the price since it was broken. He was reluctant but offered me the rod for 25$ i said i would give him 15 and he said 20 is the best he could do.I eventually declined not knowing a whole lot about the rod quality.I also found Super flukes on clearance for 1.88 and a Shimano FX2500 for 9.00 and assumed it was a low end junk reel so i didnt buy it.Should i have bought the Halo and re tipped it or is that Starlite line junk?

I am a cheap gear and good deal aficionado, and I think you scored by walking away and keeping $29 in your pocket for something else.  There is always great satisfaction in getting a great deal, especially if you work for it by asking for it.  But regardless of how good the "deal" part may feel - I don't think you'll feel good about a re-tipped reject rod over the long term.  If you search tip repairs on the forum, you'll see that replacing a tip leaves you with a different rod - and normally not for the better.  I had FX2500 reel that someone gave me new, and it worked well for a few months and then the handle and other components started feeling loose.  There was no repairing it back into shape.

If he would have done it for 15 i would have bought it.Spent 5 bucks to re tip it and had a spare rod for 20 bucks total.I mean it was probably broken off right at the tip and it was clean.Easy repair.

I fought the Monkey off.   I really want a BFS rod that can handle lures down to 1/8 of an ounce.  The combo will be used for wading small streams and rivers and for some of the smaller ponds I frequent, and at both of those spots I will throw weightless 4" finesse worm type lures pretty often.

Congrats ~

This winter I've been at the mercy of the Bait Monkey.

It's like a race - Ice out or Bankruptcy - which one will come first -

Looks like it's gonna be close ..  ..  ..  ..  ..

May have to sell off a couple of dogs - but I'm pretty sure my wife would figure that one out - eventually.

I saw a code on the outdoor channel yesterday for 20% off your order from L:B:F. Just add the initials and a 20 for the code. Similar to one they just had not long ago.  Works on everything except sale items I think. It ends today as well.

So much talk about Daiwa Ballistic lately...until then I didn't know I needed one.

But, turns out that they're only $120 at Cabelas right now with free shipping.  Sure enough.  I needed one...or two.

Nothing good at my walmart.  Turns out all they sell hooks-wise are eagle claw hooks and some offbrand worm hooks that I bent out with ease.

I am up two combos (and assorted lures/TT for them) this winter already.  My dog might have to get used to a lesser grade of rawhide for a while.

L.B.F.20 is the code, worked for me and the extra savings bought me some GCYB kut tail worms, some trick worms, owner ultraheads, and a pack of zinkerz.  Thanks again for the heads up on the sale  @MittenMouth.

When you put in L-B-F without the dots it shows up as "another site." Is it uppercase or lowercase?

Oops, I didn't think it would recognize that.  L.B.F.20 in uppercase
